At Kilgour & Associates Ltd., we recognize that many of the lands, waters, and ecosystems we work on have deep connections to Indigenous communities, and their rights, knowledge, and cultural identity. We therefore strive to work with Indigenous communities with respect and transparency, wherever our work takes us.

Meaningful Partnerships

A key expression of our commitment to working with Indigenous communities is our ownership stake in Qaumajuq Environmental Ltd. (QEL), an Inuit majority‑owned environmental consulting firm based in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut.

With QEL, our mission is to build local capacity, create northern employment opportunities, and provide high‑quality environmental services led by Inuit expertise. We service northern mining and government initiatives.

Our relationship with Qaumajuq Environmental Ltd. strengthens our ability to:

  • Support community‑based monitoring and research

  • Deliver northern projects through a northern, Inuit‑centered lens

  • Enhance training, technical skills, and long‑term capacity within communities

  • Integrate Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (IQ) and local knowledge into environmental programs

We see this partnership as a long‑term investment in northern leadership in environmental stewardship.

Collaborative Environmental Monitoring

Much of our work directly supports communities in protecting the ecosystems they depend on. Through both Kilgour & Associates Ltd. and Qaumajuq Environmental Ltd., we strive to:
